Library Guide

Ulsan Library is opened to everyone who wants to view data in the library. Some services are available only for members who have been issued a membership card, including book lending, reserving books or reserving the digital data room.

Issuance of Membership Card

- Applicants

Those who live in Ulsan in accordance with resident registration cards or who study or work in Ulsan, overseas Koreans who are staying in Ulsan, those who report a residence in Korea and those with alien registration cards.

- Issuance

Join the membership on the Ulsan Library website and visit Ulsan Library with an ID card (including student cards) and required documents.

- Required Documents

Applicants Documents
Adults, the citizens of Ulsan ID card (ID card verifying an identity and the residence)
Youth, the citizens of Ulsan ➀ ID card (ID card verifying an identity and the residence, or verifying the school in which they are enrolled)
➁ Documents for children are applied.
Kids/Children It is necessary to be accompanied by a guardian (legal representative). The guardian (legal representative) shall present the documents verifying the family relationship including the ID card of the guardian, the medical insurance card or the certified copy of resident registration
Workers in Ulsan ID card & employee’s ID card or proof of employment (ID card verifying an identity and the location of a company)
Students in colleges or universities in Ulsan ID card and student card (ID card verifying an identity and the location of a school)
Foreigners with Alien Registration Card Alien Registration Card (ID card verifying identity and residence)

Lending

  • No. of Books available for Lending : 5 books per person
  • Lending Period : 15 days (extension of lending not available)
  • Re-borrowing : Re-borrowing available starting 3 days after the date of return including the day for return.
  • Materials not available for Lending
    • - Reference materials, periodicals, small books
    • - Important materials, old books and materials that can be damaged or lost
    • - Any other materials that may inhibit others from reading them if borrowed

Booking

If a book is out on loan, you can make a reservation for that book using the reservation system.
However, if you are suspended from borrowing books or do not return books on time, lending is not available.

  • No. of Books for Booking : 3 books per person.
  • Booking : Ulsan Library Website
  • Description : SMS is sent to you immediately when the book for which you made a reservation is returned to the library. If you fail to borrow it within 3 days from the date when the SMS is sent, your reservation is automatically cancelled.
